UPDATED 05:46 17th July 2012

Casper signed for Albion in August 2010, and made his debut the next day during the opening day 2-1 victory at Swindon Town.

He began his professional career with his hometown club Koge, in Denmark, before moving to Brondby IF in the Danish top flight. In 2007 Casper moved to Leeds United on loan and signed permanently later that year.

Ankergren was part of the Leeds side that famously knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup 1-0 at Old Trafford in 2010. He won promotion to the Championship in his last season at Elland Road before repeating the feat with the Seagulls in 2011 when the Seagulls won the League One title, with the keeper playing an integral role in the side’s success.

Ankergen has played over 70 games for the Seagulls in his four years with the club and signed a contract extension in the summer of 2015 and has started work on gaining his coaching badges.
