Albion Chief Executive Martin Perry has moved to reassure fans it is "business as usual" with regard to the club's new stadium development at Falmer.
Lewes District Council last night announced they intend to challenge the decision in the High Court and Perry said, "We are disappointed, but not surprised at this action. However it makes no difference to our plans. We have a great deal of work to do before we start work, and that work is continuing unabated.
"Our legal advisors do not believe there are any legitimate grounds on which this decision can be challenged. It has been the subject of two exhaustive inquires. Lewes had the chance to present their case and have failed to convince the second inspector or the Deputy Prime Minister that there is an alternative site.
"When this is all over and the stadium goes ahead, Lewes District Council will have to work with the club - these actions are not conducive to good working relations.
"It is sad that they have not recognised the benefits that this development bring to Lewes and the residents of Sussex. They are completely misguided and risking hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal costs on a fruitless attempt to stop the development of our much-needed home."
