Albion fans braved the Humberside rain this lunchtime to deliver a special Valentines Day card to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.

The supporters, most of whom were on their way to Grimsby for this afternoon's match at Blundell Park, gathered at the East Hull Labour Party constituency office to deliver the huge card to Prescott's agent.

On the front, the card had a very special message for the Deputy Prime Minister, which read, 'Roses are red, Brighton are blue, the future of our stadium is down to you.' Inside, the card listed all of the supporting evidence for Albion's Falmer application.

Chairman of the Albion Supporters Association Tim Carder told seagulls.co.uk, "The people of Hull have been very happy to see us today.

"They know what it's like to have a community stadium. They've got a brand new on that's helping drive the regeneration of their city and their sporting teams. That's what we've asked Mr Prescott to give us today.

"Be our valentine Mr Prescott, all we are asking you is to say 'yes' to us!"
