The champagne can be uncorked! Albion have finally received confirmation that no challenge has been lodged against the Government's decision to grant the club planning permission.
The Department for Communities & Local Government today confirmed they have heard nothing from any of the opponents to the scheme, and Dick Knight said, "This is wonderful news, it is an achievement which every Albion fan however they took part, writing letters, making banners or marching with us, can be really proud of, we are grateful to all of them for the part they have played in the campaign.
"Now it's time to celebrate, and what better way to do it than at Withdean this Friday - it should be a memorable night. This is a momentous day in the club's history, and now we can really start planning for the future.
A jubilant Martin Perry added, "We've finally got the news we have all wanted for the last seven years! But we must remember that we could not have achieved this without the fans, and the help of so many people, but in particular the Falmer For All campaign team, brilliantly chaired by Paul Samrah."
Albion chairman Knight and chief executive Perry have been at the forefront of the campaign for Falmer, but the hard work continues as the club now moves to the funding and legal stage, before building is scheduled to commence at the end of next year.
