Now in his second spell with the Seagulls, Adam became a fans' favourite the first time around after helping the team achieve promotion through the play-offs in 2004, scoring a dramatic late equaliser in the semi-finals against Swindon Town. In the very next season Mark McGhee employed Adam as a makeshift striker; his eight goals helped Albion survive relegation from the Championship, and earned him a £1.5 million move to Celtic. Adam was made captain by Russell Slade at the start of the 2009/10 campaign.
