Liam Bridcutt felt the team should be pleased with a point at the KC Stadium, despite admitting that the Seagulls struggled to impose themselves on the hosts.
Contrary to the final score it was an open game with chances at both ends, and Bridcutt told seagulls.co.uk, "It was definitely a good result. We should be pleased to go home from Hull with a point because they are a decent side and it was a very difficult surface to play on.
"It was end to end and that is not our kind of game because we like to control and dominate games but tonight was one of those days where we had to dig in and fight for the point. We showed that we can do that side of the game too.
"After what happen on Sunday we just wanted to get that result out of the way. It was important for us to come here and get a clean sheet. We leaked a few goals at Anfield and after that performance we just wanted to put in a solid performance.
"We are looking kick on for the rest of the season, get as many points as we can and to look forward. If we do things right and keep tight we have a good chance of being up there at the end of the season. Now we'll got back to the Amex, which is our home, so we look to win every game and to control the games too."
The holding midfielder started alongside Manchester City loanee Abdul Razak and he has backed the Ivory Coast midfielder to prove a worthy asset.
"He is going to be a great talent and you can see that from the way that he plays the game. It might take a bit of time for him to gel with the players and with the way that we play football here, but he did very well tonight.
"Gai Assulin did well too. It's always hard to come on in any game, but especially a game like tonight's. He did well and that shows the qualities that he's got. He gives us something different, he looked sharp and he was hungry for the ball. He's a very good outlet for us."
