Tommy Elphick insists Saturday's postponed game at Plymouth Argyle will work to the side's advantage this weekend.
Albion entertain in-form MK Dons on Saturday and the defender believes the rest and recuperation has left the side chomping at the bit.
He told seagulls.co.uk, "Some people prefer to keep playing games and keep the momentum going, but I don't mind the rest after a busy start to the season.
"In fact, it's worked well for us because we've had time to regroup and tweak a few things on the training ground. While a few of the lads had Friday off - mainly those that had played a lot of games recently - training has been good and now we can't wait to get back out there and build on our last league win against Walsall."
MK Dons visit Sussex having won five of their opening six games, but Elphick takes little notice of the form book at this stage of the season.
"I think it will take ten games before we see who's in the shake-up for the top and bottom.
"Just look at the weekend; Sheffield Wednesday had been flying but then they go and lose at Brentford. Yes, MK Dons have started well and we have to be wary of their threat, but it's still too early to look into the form of individual teams too much.
"What is important for us is to stay tucked in towards the top of the table, then we'll have the foundations to kick on from there and fulfil our ambitions for the season."
