Gus Poyet today clarified the situation for a number of Albion's out-of-contract players, including Gary Hart and Colin Hawkins.
The Albion boss confirmed that Seagulls stalwart Hart, who has been out with a hamstring problem, has been invited to return for pre-season training with the rest of the squad.
Similarly Hawkins, who has been sidelined with an Achilles problem for most of the season, but has now fully recovered, will also be offered the opportunity to join pre-season training - although both players will be able to speak to other clubs and could sign elsewhere in time for next season.
Poyet also confirmed he will meet with out-of-contract goalkeepers Michel Kuipers and Josh Pelling on Friday to discuss their futures, while he will make a decision on Seb Carole's future after Saturday's match against Yeovil.
Elsewhere defender Steve Cook and midfielder Jamie Smith will both be offered new deals, as part of the club's new development squad, but Steve Brinkhurst has been handed a free transfer, joining Adam Virgo and Dean Cox on the released list.
Poyet has also intimated he would be interested in permanent or long-term loan deals with all his loan arrivals: Lee Hendrie, Gavin Hoyte, Ashley Barnes, Kazenga LuaLua and Diego Arismendi are all summer targets.
Albion are still in talks with Inigo Calderon and Marcos Painter of new deals, while goalkeeper Peter Brezovan yesterday signed a new two-year contract with the club.
Meanwhile, Liam Dickinson and Jimmy McNulty both trained with the squad this morning after returning from their respective loan spells at Peterborough and Scunthorpe.
Jake Wright, Andrew Whing and Craig Davies are all under contract, and will return from loan spells at Oxford United, Chesterfield and Port Vale, when those clubs end their respective campaigns.
Wright has one game left, the Football Conference playoff final at Wembley, while Whing and Davies could still be involved in the League Two playoffs, but both clubs need to win and for results elsewhere to go for them this weekend.
