Tommy Elphick has dedicated his man-of-the-match award to the entire Albion defence following last night's goalless draw at Colchester.
The Seagulls rearguard have notched two consecutive clean sheets - and were only seconds away from two more shutouts at Leeds and Charlton - during the team's current four-game unbeaten run.
And Elphick's rich vein of form in the heart of defence has coincided with Albion's recent success.
He told seagulls.co.uk, "It's been a crazy season for me, up and down. I'm really happy with my form at the moment but you can't keep a clean sheet on your own, you have to have the three next to you and the keeper behind.
"I've played with Adam [El-Abd] a few times, so we know each other inside out and he's getting stronger.
"Marcos [Painter] is the unsung hero of the team, he's been superb every week and he will always guarantee you a 7/10 performance and very rarely gets beaten by a winger.
"And [Inigo] Calderon stretches the game for us and loves to have the ball at his feet. He gives us a bit of pace to the team as well, so we have a great balance in defence at the moment."
Elphick also paid tribute to Albion keeper Peter Brezovan, who dealt brilliantly with the aerial threat posed by Colchester's powerful attack.
"I've been impressed with the whole back four, and Brezovan behind us because he's giving us that confidence when he comes for the crosses, allowing us to get further up the pitch.
"You have to be ready for a big aerial threat because any Aidy Boothroyd team plays that type of football and plays it effectively.
"He comes for crosses and he's totally different to Michel. We all know what Michel can do, he's an unbelievable shot-blocker, but Brezovan has got the extra height and he will come for those crosses.
"We have two very good keepers at the moment and long may that continue."
