Andrew Crofts has been named in the Wales squad set to entertain Sweden in an international friendly next week.

The Albion skipper will link up with John Toshack's squad on Sunday, with the friendly taking place at Swansea City's Liberty Stadium on Wednesday 3rd March.

Crofts will be hoping to add to his current tally of 12 caps, his last coming in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Holland in June 2008.

He told seagulls.co.uk, "I'm delighted and honoured to be named in the squad again.

"One of my main aims when I signed for Brighton was to come here and do my best for the club, and then try and get back in the Wales squad.

"The manager knows what I'm about, and he's had people watching me this season. I've been scoring a few goals as well, and I think he's been getting some good reports.

"It's a strong squad because most of the players will be from the Premiership and Championship, so it's great to be involved."

Crofts also revealed that he missed out on the chance of a call-up for a World Cup Qualifier earlier in the season because he was in action for the Seagulls in a rearranged match against Gillingham.

He explained, "There was a game on the Saturday, and the manager called me on the Sunday and wanted be to be involved in midweek against Liechtenstein.

"But we had a massive game on the Tuesday night against Gillingham so I couldn't join the squad."

Crofts will not miss any games for the Seagulls while he is on duty, and has more time than usual to recover as Albon's next fixture is not until the following Monday night at Colchester.
