Albion's under-18s ran out 2-0 winners against Colchester United this afternoon in a rearranged Youth Alliance Fixture.
Trialist Arron Hopkinson bagged both goals in the first half as Albion adapted well to the sloping pitch at St Bede's School in Upper Dicker.
The winger broke the deadlock with a shot from a tight angle, before doubling his account when he followed up a rebound from George Barker's effort.
Coach Vic Bragg said, "It was a really good first half, and we played some good stuff going up the hill on the St Bede's pitch.
"Our movement after the break wasn't quite so good. We didn't judge the balls down the hill very well, and we didn't have the same quality, particularly in the final third.
"But we were pleased with the clean sheet, because we have been working hard on things at the back."
Meanwhile, second year scholar Mitch Walker made his debut for Eastbourne Borough at Altrincham last night, but couldn't stop the home side from running out 3-0 winners.
