Under-18s Held by Luton

Albion's under-18s could only draw 1-1 with Luton Town on Saturday morning, despite creating a hatful of chances against the Hatters.

Steve Brown's side looked to be following on from their impressive 5-1 victory against league leaders Southend in the previous week as they carved numerous opportunities to break the deadlock.

But some profligate finishing, some superb goalkeeping from Aaron Fletcher and the woodwork all prevented the Seagulls from taking the lead, and instead it was the visitors who opened the scoring with a 25-yard drive from Matt Harriott.

The lead lasted only a few minutes, as George Barker dived to head home from substitute Leon Redwood's low cross to level matters.

Youth team boss Steve Brown explained, "We had lots of opportunities to score, but they had a goalkeeper in inspired form and we just couldn't get the ball in the net.

"I was a little bit disappointed on the day, but possibly that was because of how well we had played the week before.

"But when you analyse the game afterwards and realise you created five one-on-one situations and hit the bar twice, you can't be that concerned. We just lacked a bit of composure in the final third."
