Albion managing director Ken Brown has confirmed that Gus Poyet has yet to reach a decision on the future of those players who are out of contract at the end of the current season.

Brown told seagulls.co.uk, "The manager will make a decision on the players whose contracts expire this season when the time is right for the football club.

"I appreciate that the players would like to know sooner rather than later, but now is not the time for a number of different reasons, and Gus will make the decision on the group in his own time.

"Exactly the same situation is occurring at all the Football League clubs up and down the country, as is the unique nature of the business side of football.

"In the meantime, I'm sure all players will honour the terms of their individual contracts. Equally, we respect that players who are out of contract this summer are free to negotiate pre-contract deals with other clubs."

Brown also confirmed that no players have submitted transfer requests, either during or after the January transfer window period.

"The club has not received a transfer request from any single player - and at this stage in the season we do not anticpate receiving one. However, any player wishing to do so should submit such a request in writing to the manager of the club."
