Under-18s Held at Orient

Albion's under-18s were held to a 2-2 draw by Leyton Orient at the weekend.

Jake Argent put the home side in front, before George Barker equalised with a left-foot shot after a flowing team move.

Grant Hall then gave the Seagulls the lead after the break, volleying in from close range from Leon Redwood's nod down.

But the O's restored parity when Argent grabbed his second of the day from the spot after being brought down by James Smith in the area.

Youth team coach Steve Brown said, "We were by far the better side but conceded goals from a set piece and a penalty, which was disappointing.

"Aside from that Leyton Orient didn't really threaten us, while our football was some of the best we've played since I've been at the club.

"But we've only come away with a point. That shows how you can't afford to switch off, because you'll get punished.

"We just need to eradicate these lapses in concentration and I think we can be a formidable team."

Albion: (4-4-2) Godfrey; Cooper, Dunk, Hall, Smith; Hayward, Wilkins (Caskey 70), Thomson, Redwood; Barker, Hider. Subs not used: Woodley, Strong, Sheriff.
