Albion's youth team returned to league action on Saturday with a 2-1 victory at Dagenham & Redbridge, despite being reduced to 10 men.
Midfielder Ryan Thomson saw red for a two-footed challenge after Albion had raced into an early lead.
Lewis Dunk opened the scoring with a neat control and finish in the area, after Grant Hall had nodded down a free-kick into the defender's path.
Conor Hider then doubled Albion's tally, following up the rebound after George Barker's shot had been blocked.
The 10 men of Albion almost succeeded in shutting out the home side, but the Daggers did manage to grab a 90th minute consolation through Jay Nash.
Coach Vic Bragg said, "The lads worked their socks off and even with ten men we created further chances.
"We switched to 4-3-2 following the sending off but we defended well against a big side.
"It was a shame we conceded late on but it was a really positive performance."
Thomson's red card means he may miss Albion's FA Youth Cup first round tie, the draw for which takes place this Friday.
Meanwhile, Albion schoolboy Jake Caskey has been drafted into the England under-16s squad to face Wales in the opening fixture of the Victory Shield on Thursday at Yeovil Town's Huish Park.
