Albion's under-18s put their humiliating 7-1 defeat to Brentford well and truly behind them with a terrific 5-0 win against Dagenham & Redbridge in the Puma Youth Alliance Cup.
Four-goal Conor Hider was the star of the show, with George Barker grabbing the other in a convincing victory for the Seagulls.
Youth team boss Steve Brown was delighted with his side's response following the disappointment of the previous week.
"The players who were lucky enough to keep their shirt gave us exactly the response we were looking for," he told seagulls.co.uk.
"In terms of the performance, we got the exact opposite of that at Brentford. It was a million miles from the display last weekend."
Barker opened the scoring when he prodded the ball past the on-rushing Dagenham keeper Danny Sandbridge, before slotting the ball home from an acute angle.
Hider doubled Albion's lead shortly before the break with an easy tap-in after Sandbridge could only parry James Smith's shot.
Barker nodded on a loose ball after the interval for Hider to run on to, and the striker finished with aplomb to make it 3-0 to the Seagulls.
Hider completed his hat-trick after Barker had challenged with Sandbridge, coolly clipping the ball over the prone Dagenham stopper from the edge of the area.
Albion saved the best until last, when Hider leapt to power a bullet header in-off the crossbar from Smith's inch-perfect cross.
The result was marred by a nasty injury to trialist Umaru Turay, who fractured his tibia in the very first minute.
The club has promised the Londoner he can return for another trial once he has completed his recovery.
