Albion's under-18s notched their first win of the season this morning with a 2-0 victory at Colchester United.
Dan Bolwell and Lewis Ide were on target in a much improved performance from the Albion scholars.
Bolwell, who began the game at left-back but then swapped with left-sided midfielder James Smith, gave the patched-up Seagulls the lead with a composed finish after a flowing team move.
Ide then doubled the advantage, volleying home at the near post from a Smith corner.
Youth team boss Steve Brown was delighted with his side's improvement after back-to-back defeats.
"It was a good performance today, we showed a good work ethic and we kept a clean sheet.
"We worked all week on pressurising the opponents when they have the ball, and it paid off today. It's nice to see that hard work come to fruition."
The under-18s now turn their attention to a four-game run in the Puma Youth Alliance Cup, starting with a home tie against Barnet next Saturday (11am).
Albion: (4-4-2) Walker; Cooper, Strong, Sheriff, Bolwell (Woodley 82); Hayward, Ide, Caskey, Smith; Hider, Barker. Subs not used: James (GK), Cumming-Bart.
