Bad Start for Under-18s

Albion's under-18s had a wholly forgettable start to their new season with a 3-0 home defeat to Southend United on Saturday.

A brace from Kyle Asante and another from Harry Crawford did the damage for the Shrimpers, leaving Director of Football Martin Hinshelwood thoroughly disappointed with Albion's opening day display.

He said, "Pre-season went reasonably well for us, and we started the game very brightly but then conceded a disappointing goal.

"We started brightly again in the second half, but then from a corner they scored with a free header and we're 2-0 down. They added another late on, but the damage had already been done.

"It is a game of mistakes, but really we should be able to deal with those type of situations."
