Albion will announce their pre-season dates in the next 48 hours, but the Micky Adams era will kick off for real on Saturday 9th August.

Adams will learn the fixtures for next season in five weeks time, with the the 2008/09 fixture list being unveiled on Monday 16th June.

Last season, Albion began the season at Crewe Alexandra with a 2-1 reverse, while the season before an Alex Revell goal clinched the points at Rotherham.

Meanwhile, Albion's players will report back on Monday 30th June, while the club will announce their pre-season fixtures in the next 48 hours.

Adams explained, "The pre-season games have been arranged, so we will stick with that programme.

"We looking into a little trip for three or four days to help me get used to the players and for them to get used to my methods.

"When you integrate new players into the squad quickly and a way to do that is to get the players away."
