Four of Albion's eight second-year scholars have been handed one-year pro contracts by the club for next season.

Striker Kane Louis, midfielders Dan Royce and Kane Wills, and defender Andy Pearson were given the good news two weeks ago and will return for pre-season training in August.

With the elation for Louis, Royce, Pearson and Wills there was also disappointment for the four fellow second years who were informed of the news they would not be offered terms by the club.

Zac Beda, Lee Bryant, Matt Foreman and Ruben French have been released, and Director of Football Martin Hinshelwood said, "It is the hardest part of my job, telling players that they are not being taken on.

"All eight boys have been a pleasure to coach during their time at the club and I would like to thank Zac, Lee, Matty and Ruben for their efforts for the club, particularly over the last two seasons and wish them well for the future.

"Congratulations to the two Kanes, Dan and Andy on clinching their new deals with the club. They have worked hard over the past two years to get to this stage.

"They will have to continue that hard work - starting this summer when they report back for pre-season - if they want to continue their progress and break into the first team."
