Albion boss Dean Wilkins couldn't hide his disappointment after the 0-0 draw with play-off rivals Leeds United on Saturday.
Although upbeat about gaining a valuable point towards Albion's play-off push, Wilkins felt his side were denied the chance to take all three by a string of erroneous offside decisions from the officials.
Wilkins watched several of the key incidents on the match video before addressing the press at the final whistle, and confirmed that chances for Dean Cox, Nicky Forster and Glenn Murray had all been falsely ruled offside.
Wilkins admitted, "The match didn't exactly go to plan - because we did not win it!
"I suppose we got the next best thing which was a clean sheet and a point, but to be honest I am a little bit disappointed in some respects.
"At times I am critical of some of the offsides that we get caught on, but every time I look at the video evidence after the game, some of them are blatantly onside, and we are getting punished for having good movement, which is quite bizarre really. I would like the officials to try to keep in line a little bit more.
"That was the only real downside, but those situations are big turning points because most of the time they occur when a player is clean through and it can change the balance of the game.
"I'm not talking about 'touch and go' decisions here. It is pretty blatant and I believe that the directive is that if the official is not quite sure then he should rule in favour of the attacking side, so we have been quite hard done by at times this afternoon.
"On a positive note, we set ourselves a target over the last six games and we have achieved that target with the point today, so that is a massive plus for everybody at our club and the players deserve a huge pat on the back. It sets ourselves up nicely for the run-in."
Albion return to Withdean next weekend to face bottom club Port Vale, but Wilkins is warning against complacency.
"There will be expectation on us from outside to win next week but it will be more a case of trepidation from me because it is game that we really want to be positive and try and gain the three points from, but it is also a potential banana skin as such.
"The run-in will be exciting and it will be tense. It will probably go all the way to the final game and we could not have a tougher finale. We have done very well to get where we are though and everyone should be very proud of what we have achieved."
Albion will have Ian Westlake available again for the Vale clash, and although it is currently the final game of the midfielder's loan spell from Leeds, Wilkins remains hopeful of securing him until the end of the season.
"Discussions with Leeds remain ongoing as regards Ian Westlake," he said. "We are very hopeful but we just need to wait and see."
