Ian Westlake this morning put pen-to-paper on his one-month loan deal from Leeds United, and is itching to get into action with the Seagulls.
The 24-year-old midfielder is also looking forward renewing acquaintances with former Ipswich team-mates Dean Bowditch, Nicky Forster and Matt Richards, the latter with whom he won honours in the youth team at Portman Road.
He told seagulls.co.uk, "I grew up with Richo and Bowditch, they're a similar age to me. Fozzie was there with me for a couple of years as well.
"Although Richo was younger than me he always used to play up a year, and we won the league together and got to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup.
"Fozzie is that quiet, retiring type isn't he! I got on really well with him at Ipswich. He's got a great personality and is easy to get along with."
Westlake travelled down from Leeds last night so has yet to meet the rest of the squad, but he admits he can't wait to get back playing first team football after falling out of contention at Elland Road.
"I hope to get a lot out of my time here. Hopefully we can make a push for the play-offs, and I can stay until the end of the season, if I can.
"I just want to play first team football again. I've been playing in the reserves, and I just want to start enjoying it again.
"I've spoken to the manager and I'm meeting him later. I just can't wait to get involved whenever I can."
