Wilkins Pleased With Performance

Although frustrated by the final result, Dean Wilkins was satisfied with his side's fluency and level of play against Walsall tonight.
Albion dominated proceedings at Withdean, only for the Saddlers to a nick a point courtesy of a blistering strike against the run of play from Ishmel Demontagnac.
"The end result is frustrating but generally the match was a successful one in terms of the way that we played," Wilkins said.
"The players in the dressing room are annoyed with each other and there are one or two little arguments going on, which I think is a good sign, especially in the light of the fact that we have picked up another point and moved another place up the league.
"So it still bodes well, but we are disappointed that we haven't killed the game off."
The Seagulls controlled the game from start to finish, and Wilkins was delighted with the way his players moved the ball around to try an unlock the Walsall defence.
"The quality of the passing tonight was the kind of quality that we are trying to achieve week in and week out.
"The only thing that was lacking once we got inside the final third was that little bit of devilment to enable us to finish the game off and make it 2-0 or 3-0. I think if we had gone 2-0 up then it would have become 3-0, but all the time it is 1-0 then it only takes one piece of magic, which is what it was from their sub.
"The determination to get the right sort of cross in needs to be there, and then if that is there, then the right sort of aggression and determination to get on the end of it is needed.
"I felt that too often the right sort of ball didn't go into the box, and for the amount of possession that we had in and around the box, that statistic needs to be higher.
"I would say that in terms of the way that we passed the ball it was the most fluent performance this season, so although we are disappointed that we have lost the two points, we have to be really pleased with the level of play."
