ROCC Computers continue to show their support for Albion in the Community's CupFinal Project.
In partnership with the Football Foundation and 11 housing associations from across Sussex and Surrey the target-specific football inclusion project uses football as a positive activity for young people aged seven to 19-years-old, and works to emphasise the values of teamwork, inclusion, achievement, respect and self-belief.
For the first time, young people living in housing association properties have been given the opportunity to participate in regular funded football coaching sessions.
The support from ROCC has enabled AITC to continue to develop regular fully-funded football sessions, which have been established across Sussex and Surrey for school holidays, after school, evenings and Saturday mornings, providing young people living within targeted housing associations areas the opportunity to participate in regular physical exercise while learning new skills.
In addition to the football skills learned by the young people the scheme works to:
- Assist in tackling anti-social behaviour.
- Promote valuable life-skills such as teamwork, respect and discipline.
- Promote community involvement.
- Highlight the dangers of smoking and drug abuse - including alcohol.
- Promote the benefits of regular exercise and healthy diet.
The project also works with young adults in target areas, giving them the opportunity to gain accreditation on the Level 1 Certificate in Football Coaching. This in turn provides coaching employment opportunities within the community scheme.
Over the past year the project has worked with over 2,000 young people from across Sussex and Surrey.
Luke Aldrich CEO told seagulls.co.uk, "ROCC are pleased to continue to support the Cup Final project and aim to actively help it go from strength to strength."
