Ferrets Tips: Albion v MK Dons

Posted on: Tue 05 Oct 2010

MK Dons are the visitors at Withdean on Saturday, and look like they will be a good test for Gus Poyet's team.

Albion's bookmaking partners Coral price up the Seagulls as their 5/4 favourites with the Dons given a 9/4 quote. Outsider of the lot is the Draw at 23/10.

None of the above exhibit spectacular value, although the draw is perhaps just a shade overpriced, but not enough to get excited about. So we need to look elsewhere.

Fran Sandaza does not appear in the goalscorer lists yet, so that makes that category a bit trickier than normal, but again I find myself leaning towards Cristan Baz @ 11/1.

If Baz plays then 11/1 by Coral is huge. If he does not, or comes on after the first goal is scored then stakes are refunded. He is more likely to make an appearance from the bench, which favours last goal betting, and is worth taking to small stakes.

Now that he has finally scored, it would be foolish to completely discount Marcos Painter, and at a massive 50/1 to score first or last, and 16/1 to score at any time, he does need close consideration.

Away from Withdean the Premier League value lies at Craven Cottage where Wolves can snare a 5/2 draw against the hosts. I also like the look of Wigan at 6/4 to dispose of Sunderland. Finally I would not be surprised if Birmingham (23/10) beat Liverpool in front of the TV cameras on Sunday.

Make sure you place your bet with Coral!

Summary

Albion v MK Dons: Draw @ 23/10
Cristian Baz: last goal @ 11/1
Marcos Painter: score at any time @ 16/1

Fulham/Wolves: Draw @ 5/2
Wigan to beat Sunderland: @ 6/4
Birmingham to beat Liverpool: @ 23/10
