Ferret's Leeds Tips

Posted on: Fri 28 Mar 2008

Back to form with a vengeance on Monday, landing both the outright draw and the half-with-most-goals wagers to end a cracking Easter weekend of football.

Now inside the play-offs, it is a case of trying to stay there, and the first big test is the trip to Leeds this weekend.

As you might expect, Bet365 have installed the home side as their warm favourites (5/6) leaving the Seagulls out with the washing (14/5).

Not for the first time though, I like the look of the Draw, on offer at a tasty 12/5. While a draw would mean only two points gained this week, and would probably let Tranmere climb back in to the top six, it would represent a decent return from two of the toughest matches of the season, and tee us up nicely for the run-in.

For a scoreline I propose backing 1-1 (6/1). I think Albion will score at least once, and I would nominate Dean Cox (18/1) as the best value. Coxy was back to something near his best in the first half at Forest, and the short break will have given him a chance, like the rest of the team, to recharge his batteries. I fully expect him to be just as influential on Saturday.

I also have to throw in Tommy Elphick (50/1) because at those odds you cannot do anything but back him. We were on at 50/1 on Monday when he had a header tipped on to the bar towards the end of the first half and believe me our hearts were in our mouths at that moment! Elphick will continue to score goals at long odds over the next season or two, and should always be one for the back pocket.
