Rix & Kay Solicitors and the Seagulls

Posted on: Mon 03 Sep 2007

Rix and Kay are the new sponsors of Albion in the Community's Disability Project.

The five-year plan funded by the Football Foundation is now coming to an end, but during this time we have affected thousands of disabled children and adults and young people with special needs with the opportunities we are able to offer.

The project has offered players the opportunity to attend regular training sessions across Sussex, take part in school football, it has provided competitions for all ages and abilities in clubs and schools. The project has progressed players through to representative football at both senior and U17 levels and players have represented the club nationally and aboard on a number of occasions. It is a fantastic achievement and with the support of Rix and Kay and further football foundation funding (hopefully agreed this week) the project aims to take disability football in Sussex to the next level.

Rix and Kay are one of the region's fastest growing law firms whose ties to the community are very strong.

Rix & Kay Solicitors are delighted to be sponsoring the exciting disability project which, over the next 5 years, aims to give every child and young person in Sussex, whatever their needs or ability, the chance to play competitive football. Rix and Kay like to encourage participation in all sports and at all levels, whether as a spectator or particpant - always remembering that "fun" is the main objective.

Disability

Many of the Rix & Kay team are ardent Seagull supporters and their objective meets everything the club's disability project aims to achieve, so this is going to be very exciting and fantastic partnership. Teresa Sanders, who leads the disability project would like to thank Rix and Kay for their support and looks forward to working alongside them to promote disability football in Sussex.

Sport is an essential part of the culture at Rix & Kay Solicitors - who work with a number of top sports clubs. Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club have been supporters of the annual Sussex Sports Conference, which is jointly organised by Rix and Kay, the Sussex County Sports Partnership and 1 Crown Office Row, the Brighton-based Barristers' Chambers. This year Albion chief-executive Martin Perry was one of the keynote speakers, and he told delegates of the club's vital role in the community, demonstrating how football can really reach and engage young people across the county.
