AITC Open Five News Wells

Albion in the Community's Carl Southwell returned from India on Monday after opening five new water wells.

The joint promotion with drop4drop - selling blue and white striped wristbands to Albion fans in and around the Amex - enabled Carl to join the local charity in the East Godavari province.

Carl told seagulls.co.uk, "What an incredible experience! I knew AITC can make a difference, but I had not experienced such a life-changing project for so many people.

"I have never felt so important to so many people as I did when I arrived at the villages and it was all because of Albion fans buying charity bands. Our supporters have given people clean drinking water for life."

"There are many pictures and videos that could try and sum up the experience, but it is very difficult to explain the extent of the poverty that these people face. Despite this they were the most welcoming, happy and close-knit group you could ever meet.

"AITC Environment projects were involved in opening five wells while we were there, which means approximately 6,000 people now receive clean drinking water.

"We are not finished yet though, and we still want to raise the equivalent of £1 for every seat at the Amex. Please keep buying the charity bands and help us keep up the good work."
