Make A Difference
Albion in the Community has staged an intense basic numeracy and literacy course aimed to improve education for the whole family, squeezing the six-week course into one action packed eight hour day.
The 'Make a Difference Day', held at the Withdean Stadium on Friday 30th October was completed by 12 families and was marked a huge success.
Sports Education Officer, Luke Tyler organised the event and said, "I see it as a great opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together away from school, work and home through the power of football.
"There is also a practical element to the course where the parents/guardians also participate in a fun, informative and relaxed environment. This brings families closer together."
"I felt all families contributed brilliantly. They made it an extremely enjoyable and fulfilling course to tutor. I look forward to the next one."
A Best Student prize was won by James Kennard of St Martins School in Brighton, for his great attitude throughout the day, as well as a family certificate and a guided tour of the stadium and changing rooms.
James's mother, Lorraine was present to watch her son awarded with an Albion shirt and later said, "He had a lovely day and still goes on about it to his friends, thank you very much."
