Albion are holding an Open Afternoon on Friday 4 July at the Study Support Centre, Withdean Stadium, for anyone interested in enrolling on the BTEC National Award In Sport course.

This Level 3 course is the equivalent of one A Level, and has been a great success at Albion's Study Support Centre since 2005.

It is suitable for individuals of any age (over 16), male or female, not in full time education, and who want to further their knowledge of sport and get a formal qualification.

It can help those who perhaps have some experience who are considering moving into a sports career, or those already working in sport who feel they benefit from additional training and qualification in order to help advance their career or future education prospects.

The course is part-time (two evenings a week) and so could be taken alongside other part time courses or by those in employment. Learning sessions are held at Withdean Stadium or Worthing FC (subject to numbers), and start in September 2008.

Assessment is based on written course work covering six units: Body In Action, Health And Safety In Sport, Training And Fitness For Sport, Sports Coaching, Exercise Health And Lifestyle, and Working With Children In Sport. Former students have gone on to work in sports (some with the Albion) or progressed to Higher Education (e.g. the Foundation Degree In Sport).
