Albion in the Community would like to welcome our friends from Le Havre Football Club, who are in Brighton this week and will be the club's guests at the Johnstone's Paints Trophy match with Cheltenham on Wednesday night.
Regular exchange visits between the clubs have been taking place over the last three years as part of the Interreg Cross Cultural project, which promotes professional development, community relations and education.
Last month coaches from Albion's Football Inclusion project took a group of local children to Normandy to participate in training sessions, visit Le Havre's academy and watch the first team in action against Guingamp.
This week Le Havre's first team players will be training in Brighton and Lancing, while on Thursday their players will be visiting schools in Brighton & Hove to meet pupils and help them to practice their French language skills.
They will also be presenting a prize to a pupil at Hove Park School who won the Albion Interreg quiz at the recent Languages At Work fair held at the school in September.
The French players will also be taking time to learn more about British culture by having a night out at the Corals Greyhound Stadium in Hove, before rounding off their UK visit with a friendly match against Watford FC this Friday.
