Brighton & Hove Albion were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw with struggling Blackpool.
The Seagulls had a flurry of chances in the second half but a mixture of good defending and missed opportunities ensured the game finished in a stalemate.
In what was a stop-start first half, both sides enjoyed possession without finding a cutting edge.
The best chance of the half came with less than 60 seconds on the clock when Adrian Colunga broke through on goal, however he scuffed his shot straight into Joe Lewis’s arms.
Chances were few and far between though, with Joe Bennett next to try his luck through a curling free-kick on the half-hour mark which hit the side netting.
Three minutes later Bruno delivered a teasing ball in towards Jake Forster-Caskey but the midfielder mistimed his effort.
It was one-way traffic in the second half as Albion burst into life with a flurry of chances.
With 46 minutes on the clock Bruno saw his shot saved by Lewis before Colunga tried his luck from distance.
Lewis then made another fine save to keep out Albion midfielder Danny Holla’s instinctive volley.
In the 56th minute Andrew Crofts set Sam Baldock free down the left; he played the ball square for Colunga but the Spaniard’s shot was excellently blocked.
Lewis then made another excellent save from Holla’s curling free-kick before Forster-Caskey’s long-range effort flew just over the bar.
Lewis Dunk then went close from Bruno’s looping ball but his header dropped just wide of the post.
Albion piled on the pressure but the Seasiders continued to frustrate with their resolute defending.
In the 77th minute David Stockdale was alert at the other end to deny Ishmael Miller after a Bruno slip allowed the Blackpool striker to run through on goal.
Nathan Delfouneso then cleared the ball off the line from an Albion corner before Dunk headed over from Kazenga LuaLua’s teasing ball.
Blackpool had to play the last ten minutes with a man down as Jeffrey Rentmeister was forced off through injury.
With three minutes remaining substitute LuaLua turned well and unleashed a trademark strike which flew over the bar.
In injury time Paddy McCourt drilled a shot straight down the throat of Lewis but the visitors held on for a valuable point.
